1983 – Atlantic Insurance Company Ltd. was founded in July of 1983
Established in 1983 by a small group of ambitious and experienced insurers, directed by highly qualified and competent professionals with a profound knowledge of the Cypriot market, the company set out to become a pioneer in the field of general insurance. Based on and guided by a forward looking policy, the company gained through the years a prominent position in its field.
2000 – Atlantic Insurance Company Ltd. was successfully listed in the Cyprus Stock Exchange in October of 2000
In October 2000 Atlantic Insurance Co. Ltd was listed in the Cyprus Stock Exchange. This has given a new impetus to the development program of the company. The money raised from the shares offered to the public allowed the company to fulfil its ambitious plans for growth through the acquisition of portfolios, introduction of new products and by entering new spheres of business activity.
2002 – Expanding in new spheres of business activities
In the year 2002 Atlantic proceeded to the establishment of Atlantic Consultancy Services Ltd and its subsidiary Atlantic Securities through which it entered dynamically the financial services and stockbrokerage sectors. The success of these two subsidiaries was beyond expectations. For the last three years Atlantic Securities, despite its young age, has accumulated a percentage of the market that places it among the top four stockbrokerage firms operating in Cyprus.
2007 – Atlantic’s turnover surpasses €21 million positioning itself among the leader insurers of Cyprus
During a profitable 2007 the company achieved the 5th position among 30 insurance companies operating in the general insurance sector in Cyprus and the 2nd position among insurance companies that are not bank-owned.
2009 – Broadening its business environment
In February 2009 ATLANTIC concluded a business cooperation agreement with the Bank of Piraeus Ltd. Through this agreement the Bank which will acquire 25% of the capital of will be operating as an Insurance Broker promoting to its clients our insurance products.
The decision of the Piraeus Bank, one of the strongest and leading Banking Institutions of Greece, is by itself a tangible expression of confidence and trust in the present and future prospects of ATLANTIC |
