Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q1. Why do I need product liability insurance?A1. You should consider product liability insurance if your business designs, manufactures or supplies a physical product. You may be held legally responsible for any illness or injury to third parties or damages to third party property caused by a faulty product.
  • Q2. Is Products Liability insurance compulsory by law? A2. No, however, it is strongly recommended to have such an insurance if you manufacture, sell, supply, install, treat, alter, repair or distribute products. This affords protection against the possibility of financial loss due to legal action against you for faulty products resulting in third party bodily injury, illness or property damage.
  • Q3. How much Products Liability insurance cover do I need? A3. The amount of cover that your business needs will depend on the risks associated with your business operations. However, in certain cases, a third party or business collaborator may require a minimum level of indemnity. Generally, we are glad to assist you in deciding the appropriate level of cover.
  • Q4. I already have Public Liability insurance. Do I also need Products Liability insurance? A4. Yes, you do need Products Liability insurance as Public Liability insurance excludes claims arising out of or in connection with any products .
